Daily Log: It’s Been A Year Madey…

The Day God Took You Home
Pinned from www.lovethispic.com/
It’s been a year since you left us…forever…and it seemed like yesterday…the pain in my heart…the tears of missing you. The realization that I would never see you…again…or hear your gentle voice calling me Nene…ever again.

Will it be like this? When sadness overtook all reasons…and I will feel the pain of losing you…of longing to be with you…even just for a while.

Will the tears stop falling? Will the pain go away and be replaced with just a dull ache? Will the longing fade away? Will I stop missing you? In time???

One thing is sure...July...my birth month...will always be bittersweet. It's the time of year that "God took you home"...the same time I was born...through you from God.

One of my favorite pictures of you. Taken during our trip to Hundred Islands, Alaminos, Pangasinan last December 22, 2013
I missed you so much Madey. And much as I want to remember your smile and the warmth of your love...but the pain won't go away.

Daily Log: One Thing At A Time. A Plan For 2015

One thing at a time.
One mountain to climb.
One problem to face
One debt to erase.
One habit to break.
One risk to take.
One dream to fulfill
One part of God's will.
One more chance to make right
One more reason to fight.
For when it's all done
You are the one
Who will stand tall and say.
"I did it my way!"
One thing at a time.

I was born and raised in the province. And I remember, during my younger years, I have my New Year's resolutions...sometimes written but oftentimes, not. Every year. But as always the case, it remained just that...resolutions...plans.

On the last few days of classes, most of my classmates would talked about their resolutions. I have to have one, too. But there's no accountability, not even to myself. Resolutions or what we call it now as "goal settings" was never really discussed during class.

It was one of those things that someone need to have during New Year. Just like the ever famous Philippine tradition that was passed from generation to generation "of jumping at the stroke of midnight during New Year's Eve so we could be taller".

The problem with resolutions...it's too general.

So, here I am. For this year...no "childhood" resolutions but focusing on things "one at a time".

Daniz is Turning Nine

It seems only yesterday when “Papa God” blessed Jonjie and I with the “most precious gift ever”…our daughter, Shemaella Daniz. And she will be 9 years old tomorrow.

Our baby is turning a into a little lady. And I can’t help but think…time flies…so fast.

She is the reason why we are a family. She gives us immense joy and happiness. She is the child of our hearts.

We have waited and prayed for her for seven years, and it was worth the wait. And we will forever be grateful…thus, we named her Shemaella.

Inspires gratitude and thanksgiving, a big YES...love life to its fullest measure, multiple YES...fill our hearts and mind with serenity, hmmmnnn...

Last night, when I entered our room, father and daughter are sleeping side by side. Just like the old days, when she was a baby and she love sleeping close to her father. It brought back fond memories…

As parents, we have our ‘ups‘ and ‘downs’.

We want her to have the things that we do not have as a child. On the other hand, we want her to learn to appreciate and be thankful for the things that she has…the difference between needs and wants.

We often questioned ourselves if we are doing the right thing with her. Are we too strict? Or do we easily give in to her whims? Are we patient enough to understand her?

But amidst all the questions and uncertainties, there is one thing that is constant and certain. That we love her so much and we will always be here no matter what.

While browsing the net about poems and quotes for Daughters, this caught my attention as it aptly describes Daniz and our feelings for her.

An Angel Left Her Wings

© Tina M. Marascia, Published: Feb 2006

I have this little angel. For me she left her wings.
She has no idea how much happiness she truly brings.
She brightens up my days with her smiles and her laughs.
She helps me to remember all the blessings that I have.

Her face, it is so perfect, she's sweet and soft and pure.
Sometimes she can be willful and sometimes she is demure.
She tries her very hardest to please and do what's right.
She gives the greatest hugs from morning until night.

Every person that has known her sees this light within her soul
I know that in this whole great world, she has a special role.
She's helpful and considerate to everyone she knows
This light in her shines brighter as my angel grows.

When she sees someone is sad, it opens up her heart.
She wants to do all that she can; she wants to do her part.
She'll squeeze away the sorrow and make me forget about my pain.
She shows me where the sun is when we're hiding from the rain.

I know that God must love me, He showed me with His Grace
I knew just how completely when I saw my angel's face.
And in that very moment when she came into my world,
I knew that she was so much more than just my baby girl.

She would be my sunshine, with a sweetness that won't end.
And when she grows up one day she would be my closest friend.
She would be the reason I would always try my best.
For my little angel baby girl would be my greatest test.

When God entrusts to you an angel, who has left her wings for you.
Encircle her with love with everything you do.
Let her know God made her, and that He trusts you with her care.
Be sure to make time for special moments with her to share.

And when at night she finally says her prayers and goes to sleep
I Thank Him for my angel, and ask for him to always keep
A watchful eye and hand to protect her from this world.
Protect my little angel; protect my baby girl.

Daily Log: “I Wish You Enough” by Bob Perks

The first time I read it was January 11, 2002 as part of the day's inspirational message from Friends Reflections sent via email...Author Unknown. But the words remain with me until this day...

It was in early 2006 when I happened to stumble upon a website, "I believe in you!" Stories by Bob Perks that I finally knew the author behind the poem.

For days now, I have been trying to share this...searching for the right words. But there is none...

"I wish you enough sun

to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain

to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness

to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain

so that the smallest joys in life

appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain

to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss

to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough "Hellos"

to get you through the final "Goodbye."

Our Love Story: 15 Years and Counting

As a newbie in the company
You became my instant enemy
You’re so arrogant, noisy and loud
So full of yourself and so proud
All along, that’s what I thought

DSC_1431

And then one day out of the blue
We talked, shared our thoughts
And in just a short span of time
I see a different side of you
Contemplative, thoughtful, true

For one whole week afterwards
Getting to know each other, we did
We spent much time, talking, sharing
Enjoying, laughing and even crying
Together…discovering, exploring

I knew and I saw the sign clearly
I still doubted if we’re meant to be
‘Coz of our differences, you and me
Your way of life and my insecurities
But then again…so what

And even before the week ends
There’s no denying even to myself
That you really are meant for me
Mama Mary’s answer to my prayers
And so, I let it be…

We built our house, made it a home
Struggled to make a life of our own
We made mistakes along the way
But we braved everything together
To have our “happy ever after”

100_0942

On our seventh year of togetherness
God had granted our fervent prayers
A precious gift was sent from above
An adorable little angel we love so much
Ever since, a complete family we become

We named her Shemaella Daniz
Precious and beloved child of our hearts
Our source of pride,  joy and happiness
And we will be grateful, for always
To the One above, for His loving grace

One week into getting to know stage
One month of being in a relationship
With God’s infinite love and grace
And Mama Mary’s eternal blessing
We are in our 15 years and counting!

Hello September!

Hello September
Taken at 7:33 this morning along the stretch of Gil Puyat Ave inside Clark Freeport Zone
September first
Bring joyous cheers
And a warm welcome from everyone
As it officially starts the “ber” months
September, October, November
And the most awaited month of the year
December...

Looking at the clear morning sky
With a silent prayer in my heart
Not only for today
But for the rest of the year
That the days ahead
May bring more gladness
Not just for me but for those
Who needed it the most

Today is the first day of the month
The first day of the week
With a straight road ahead
And a clear blue sky above
Hoping and praying, it is a sign
That we are off to a good start

September...please be good to us!

Farewell, Dearest Mother

http://jadspiritsfamilylifeadventures.blogspot.com/
NORBERTA SALEN SABENIANO
June 06, 1941 ~ July 11, 2014

How do we let go of someone so special and constant in our lives?
How do we accept your passing and let God take you into His bosom?
Is it possible to celebrate your life, despite the pains and loneliness
And the void that you left behind?

Who will listen to our stories, comfort us when we are feeling down?
Who will be there to heal us or pray for us when we are sick?
Who will come travelling when there is a new addition to the family?
Who will answer us when we call Inay, Nay, Nanay, Madey?

Oh Mother, we will miss you so much
Your ever present radiant smile that melts even the hardest heart
Your strong faith and belief in God and in the power of prayers
That everything, as bad as it may seem, will turn out right in the end

But we will be strong for we know that we are loved
That each of us, your seven children and eleven grand children
Have been blessed with your devotion, loyalty and thoughtfulness
That we have better lives and bright future because of you

Thank you very much, dearest Inay
For letting us spread our wings and soar high to reach our dreams
For encouraging us to go on when all we ever wanted was to give up
For the words of wisdom that guided us through journey’s end

Thank you for living a full life
For doing what you must do, as a farmer’s wife and a mother to us
For doing what you wanted as an individual, as a woman, as a citizen
For your legacy as barangay councilor and servant of the church

Go Inay…fly to heaven’s high
Our Lord and Creator is waiting to welcome you in His loving arms
Though you’re not with us but your love and memories will remain
To give us strength and to keep our family together as one

Know that we loved you with all our hearts
We cherish you and we will remember you with your radiant smile
Look down on us from time to time and send us your sweet kisses
Through the gentle wind or the soft falling rain

Farewell, dearest Mother
Difficult and painful it may be, but we know that in God's perfect time
We will be able to celebrate your life...a well-lived life
We love you so much. God speed!

Happy Father's Day, Daday!

You have been a father for just 8 years
But it's like you've been doing it forever
Yes, Daniz is so blessed to have you as her father
No one could do it better than you are doing it now

I clearly remember the first time we saw her
I have waited for the twinkling eyes
And the brightest smile amidst the tears
But for you...it was love at first sight

Without reservation
You have chosen to be a full-time Daday
And set aside your needs and wants
So one of us will always be there for her

No one could love her more
Understand her needs
Guide her to be the best that she can be
No one...but you.

She was our gift from God
The child of our hearts
But you are her greatest blessing
Her forever Super DADAY.
